In this tutorial we will be setting up a TeamSpeak server. This is the free version of the server without the licence fees, and can have up to 32 clients connected at the same time.

Installing the Server on your Windows VPS

Download 64bit version  of the server on your windows vps desktop

extract the files. When the files have finished extracting run the “ts3server.exe”

A window will popup giving you the server query login name and password, as well as the server admin token. Write these down because you will need them later.

  • When you connect to the client for the first time you will be required to enter the Token key.

Firewall Settings

The firewall settings will need to be altered to allow people to connect to the TeamSpeak server, to do this go to the “Server Manager” under configuration.

You will need to create a two new inbound rules, the first one 9987 (UDP) the second rule you will need to allow both port 30033 and port 10011 (TCP). Once both of these rules have been enabled you and your friends will be able to connect to your very own TeamSpeak server, just remember to run the “ts3server.exe” first!
